The marimbaphone (or just “marimba”) consists of wooden bars of various lengths which are arranged according to their pitch in scales, very similarly to the keys of a piano. Compared to the xylophone, the marimbaphone is larger with a key range of five octaves (from bass to alto), and its wood bars are thinner and softer, resulting in a warm and pleasing sound. Since the 1950s it has become a standard instrument in contemporary music. This instrument was played not only with various mallets (very soft, medium soft, hard, extra hard) but also with handles, fingers, fingernails, a superball and a string bow.

Sample Content:

Hard Mallet: Rolls dynamics, 1, 2, and 4 sec / Chord tremolos

Soft Mallet: Rolls dynamics, 1, 2, and 4 sec / Chord tremolos

Additional Mallets: Very soft, medium soft, and extra hard mallets / Single hits / Rolls

Specials: Rubber mallets, superball, handle, fingers, fingernails, and bowed single notes

System Requirements:

PC Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 32/64-bit), Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Mac OS X 10.8 (latest update) or higher, Intel Core 2 Duo

2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

VIENNA KEY (Vienna Symphonic Library USB protection device) or other USB eLicenser (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia)

806.2 MB free hard drive space for the Standard Library, 806.2 MB for the Full Library

Recommended:

Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 64-bit), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

4 GB RAM

SSD or fast separate hard drive (7200 rpm or faster)

AU/VST/AAX Native/RTAS compatible host (also works stand-alone)

RTAS version requires Pro Tools 7.3 or higher

AAX version requires Pro Tools 10.3.5 or higher

88 key master keyboard

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0658/8848/5479/files/vienna-marimba-full-1_2b32df49-1f48-436f-a37a-030f4ca2e975.jpg?v=1787091357
