There are 15 small round slabs of limestone chromatically arranged on rubber pegs. The Vienna Symphonic Lithophone Standard was newly developed at the Technical University of Zurich, and modeled after the marimba. The unmistakable, round stone sound remains prominent over the instrument’s nearly five octave range.

Sample Content:

LITHOPHONE: Soft mallets: single notes secco, rolls, chord tremolos; sul ponticello, normal and secco; glissandos / Medium mallets: single notes normal and secco, chord tremolos / Hard mallets: Single notes secco, chord tremolos / Effects: finger strokes normal and secco, nail strokes normal and accented, 3mm needle center strokes and plucked, 5mm needle side strokes and ponticello, "shattering" tremolo portato and accented

LITHOPHONE small: 1–4 upbeats / Rolls / Rubbed

System Requirements:

PC Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 32/64-bit), Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Mac OS X 10.8 (latest update) or higher, Intel Core 2 Duo

2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

VIENNA KEY (Vienna Symphonic Library USB protection device) or other USB eLicenser (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia)

614.4 MB free hard drive space for the Standard Library, 614.4 MB for the Full Library

Recommended:

Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 64-bit), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

4 GB RAM

SSD or fast separate hard drive (7200 rpm or faster)

AU/VST/AAX Native/RTAS compatible host (also works stand-alone)

RTAS version requires Pro Tools 7.3 or higher

AAX version requires Pro Tools 10.3.5 or higher

88 key master keyboard

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0658/8848/5479/files/vienna-lithophone-full-1_79740cab-834c-4fe3-b781-d9ac52659f36.jpg?v=1787091357
