The Heckelphone was only developed in the 20th century and with its dark, expressive character it rounds out the oboes’ tenor register. Because of its similar sound it can replace the baritone oboe. Richard Strauss was among the great composers who liked to employ the instrument which sounds an octave lower than the oboe, e.g., in his scores for “Salome”, “Elektra” and “Eine Alpensymphonie”

Sample Content:

SHORT + LONG NOTES: Staccato / Portato short / Sustained with and without vibrato

DYNAMICS: pfp with vibrato, 3 and 5 sec / Fortepiano and sforzato with vibrato

FLATTER: Flutter tonguing

PERF INTERVAL: Legato

PERF INTERVAL FAST: Legato

PERF REPETITION: Legato / Portato / Staccato

System Requirements:

PC Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 32/64-bit), Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Mac OS X 10.8 (latest update) or higher, Intel Core 2 Duo

2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

VIENNA KEY (Vienna Symphonic Library USB protection device) or other USB eLicenser (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia)

1.5 GB free hard drive space for the Standard Library, 1.5 GB for the Full Library

Recommended:

Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 64-bit), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

4 GB RAM

SSD or fast separate hard drive (7200 rpm or faster)

AU/VST/AAX Native/RTAS compatible host (also works stand-alone)

RTAS version requires Pro Tools 7.3 or higher

AAX version requires Pro Tools 10.3.5 or higher

88 key master keyboard

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0658/8848/5479/files/vienna-heckelphone-1_e78c55b2-4bb7-4731-99cd-0d5632659b39.jpg?v=1787091393
