The term cimbasso emerged in Italy at the beginning of the 19th century and is probably an abbreviation of corno in basso (bass horn), but it is a member of the tuba family and also usually played by a tubist. Its timbre is highly homogeneous throughout its range. Dramatic changes of register are not apparent. The overall sound is surprisingly mellow and warm, rich and resonant.

Sample Content:

SHORT + LONG NOTES: Staccato / Portato medium / Sustained

DYNAMICS: Medium dynamics, 2 and 4 sec / Fortepiano and sforzato

FLATTER: Flutter tonguing normal and crescendo

PERF INTERVAL: Legato normal and with sustain crossfading

PERF INTERVAL FAST: Legato

PERF REPETITION: Portato / Staccato fast

System Requirements:

PC Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 32/64-bit), Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Mac OS X 10.8 (latest update) or higher, Intel Core 2 Duo

2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

VIENNA KEY (Vienna Symphonic Library USB protection device) or other USB eLicenser (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia)

1.4 GB free hard drive space for the Standard Library, 1.4 GB for the Full Library

Recommended:

Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 64-bit), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

4 GB RAM

SSD or fast separate hard drive (7200 rpm or faster)

AU/VST/AAX Native/RTAS compatible host (also works stand-alone)

RTAS version requires Pro Tools 7.3 or higher

AAX version requires Pro Tools 10.3.5 or higher

88 key master keyboard

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0658/8848/5479/files/vienna-cimbasso-standard-1_f9a62ae3-2b60-4bcf-959b-172062cc11ea.jpg?v=1787091363
