The Baritone saxophone takes over the lowest voice in classical big-band scores, frequently doubling the voice of the first Alto saxophone. It is more than twice as long as the Alto and has a characteristic looping mouthpiece tube. In the lower range it can sound very prominent and create a “smacking” or “slapping” sound.

The musician for all the instruments, Robert Bernhard, plays in illustrious circles. His experience in orchestral music is as profound as his improvisations in jazz, funk and blues. He has captured all the nuances of the Selmer Mark VI series instruments (reissues of the famous vintage saxes of the Sixties) – from sensitive to aggressive, from whispering to screaming, exploiting the full dynamic range of these instruments.

Sample Content:

SHORT + LONG NOTES: Staccato, portato short / Sustained with and without vibrato / Portato medium / Slap, key noise / Sustained with progressive vibrato, "dirty" / Short and long bends

DYNAMICS: pfp with vibrato, 3 and 5 sec / Fortepiano and sforzato without vibrato / Medium dynamics with vibrato, 1.5/2/5 sec / Strong dynamics with vibrato, 3 and 5 sec / Medium dynamics without vibrato, 1.5/2/3 sec / Sforzatissimo without vibrato

FLATTER + TRILLS: Flutter tonguing, crescendo / Trills normal, minor and major 2nd / Trills accelerando, minor and major 2nd / Dynamics for all trills

PERF INTERVAL: Legato with vibrato / Legato without vibrato, sustain crossfading / Grace notes, minor 2nd to octave / Portamento / Marcato

PERF INTERVAL FAST: Legato / Marcato

PERF TRILL: Trills, legato, minor 2nd to major 3rd

PERF REPETITION: Legato slow / Portato fast / Staccato / Legato fast / Portato slow / Dynamics for all repetitions

FAST REPETITION: Staccato, 9 repetitions, 150, 170, 180 BPM / Staccato, 9 repetitions, 140 and 160 BPM / Dynamics for all repetitions

GRACE NOTES: Grace notes / Minor 2nd to octave / Up and down

SCALE RUNS: Octave runs / Legato, chromatic and whole tone / Up and down

BENDS DOWN: Sustained with and without vibrato / Legato with vibrato / Sustained with progressive vibrato, and 'dirty' / Grace notes, portamento, marcato interval performances / Performance trills

System Requirements:

PC Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 32/64-bit), Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Mac OS X 10.8 (latest update) or higher, Intel Core 2 Duo

2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

VIENNA KEY (Vienna Symphonic Library USB protection device) or other USB eLicenser (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia)

1.4 GB free hard drive space for the Standard Library, 1.4 GB for the Full Library

Recommended:

Windows 7/8/10 (latest update, 64-bit), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher), Intel i5/i7/Xeon

4 GB RAM

SSD or fast separate hard drive (7200 rpm or faster)

AU/VST/AAX Native/RTAS compatible host (also works stand-alone)

RTAS version requires Pro Tools 7.3 or higher

AAX version requires Pro Tools 10.3.5 or higher

88 key master keyboard

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0658/8848/5479/files/vienna-baritone-saxophone-1_88b12e0d-9086-4eb3-8822-4e411fdd5e58.jpg?v=1787091401
