If the LED flashes, it signifies light to medium compression; a continuously lit LED suggests heavy compression, which can be desirable for specific uses, such as on a drum room mic.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eDue to the one-knob design, compression levels will vary depending on the microphone’s output. For example, with a low-output dynamic microphone like the Shure SM7B, the compression effect is more subtle.
