Getting a good snare sound from the source is key to achieving a professional sounding recording. Sugar Percussion has teamed up with Vintage King to make a snare drum that will perform to the highest standards no matter what style of music you are working on.
This shell is made from high-quality Walnut, which is great for adding warmth, attack and depth. A thicker shell and rounded bearings renders more control to dial in whatever type of sound you are looking for.
A typical recording snare is 14” in diameter. The Sugar Percussion Vintage King edition has a 15” diameter to provide a wider dynamic range and fuller body. These snares can be cranked for a nice jazz sound, or detuned for the classic Steve Jordon fat snare tone, or any other tone in between. The 5” depth produces brilliant crack without being too boomy.
