The SSL Nucleus 2 is a compact 16-channel desktop controller that gives you total control over your favorite DAWs. Based on the award-winning Nucleus controller, Nucleus 2 combines everything engineers and producers loved about the original with brand-new features like improved monitoring, a built-in talkback section, and full Dante networking capabilities.

HANDS-ON MIX CONTROL

Nucleus 2 is a complete solution for in-the-box producers and engineers. Ditch your mouse and keyboard and mix with total hands-on control. Two banks of eight channels feature motorized 100 mm faders, user definable soft keys and V-Pots, and dedicated solo/cut buttons. The center section offers heavy-duty transport controls, a high-quality jog wheel, and programmable keyboard emulation buttons for easy access to your favorite quick commands.

Control up to three DAWs at once, including Pro Tools, Logic, Nuendo & Cubase, Reason, Ableton Live, Digital Performer, Samplitude and more. You can even toggle between sessions with the touch of a button! Spend less time tweaking parameters and more time creating with a fast, intuitive workflow. Save time and money in the studio with helpful features like total recall and tactile plug-in controls.

DANTE ENABLED RECORDING

Nucleus 2 is much more than just a DAW controller — it’s also a fully functional zero-latency Dante over Ethernet audio interface. Record using two studio-grade SuperAnalogue preamps—the same models used in SSL Duality and AWS consoles. Mixdown Mode makes it easier than ever to print your final mix with analog signal processing by letting you re-record your DAW output through the preamp inserts.

IMPROVED MONITORING

An upgraded monitoring section offers two sets of monitor outputs for quickly A/B-ing mixes. A new talkback system offers quick and easy communication using via dedicated headphone outputs or input 2 of Dante soundcard. Monitor live performances with effects in zero latency using the wet/dry controls to blend direct input and playback signals.

CLASSIC DESIGN

The SSL Stereo Bus Compressor module from the center section of the SL 4000 G Series console has been used on countless hit records over the years since it was first released in the 1980s. Now you can capture the same iconic sound right from your lunchbox with the new SSL Stereo Bus Compressor 500-series module. Based on the same design as the original G S-series models, the new SSL Stereo Bus Compressor 500-series module includes a number of new features and improvements that make it more versatile than ever.

UPDATED CONTROLS

The SSL Stereo Bus Compressor module features the same gooey sound you know and love with a few new updates for added flexibility.

The attack controls now offer six positions for a wider range of options. Choose from 0.1 ms, 0.3 ms, 1 ms, 3 ms, 10 ms, and 30 ms. Similarly, the release settings now include 0.1 sec, 0.2 sec, .4 sec, .8 sec, 1.6 sec and the dynamic AUTO setting.

Users can now select from a wider range of ratio settings to dial in everything from smooth, subtle compression to hyper-aggressive limiting. Choose from the following settings: 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10.

The new SSL Stereo Bus Compressor module also introduces a dedicated high-pass filter, making it ideal for use with bass-heavy instruments like kick drums, bass guitars, synths and more. Choose from 30 Hz, 60 Hz, 105 Hz, 125 Hz and 185 Hz.

While the original SSL bus compressor was designed for mix bus compression, this versatile 500-series module makes it easier than ever to add that same classic punch and power to any tracks. Dial in everything from massive, exciting drum sounds to thick, rich vocal tones and big, fat bass tracks. Of course, the SSL bus compressor still sounds great on the mix bus too!
