Product Description

The Speck Electronics EQF 810 is an all-analog, single-channel 4-band parametric equalizer in compact half-rack format. Quickly add life to drums, bass, guitars, vocals and more using the intuitive interface. Use the convenient front-panel switch to choose between Jensen transformer-balanced and active-balanced outputs for a variety of tonal options to suit any situation.

FOUR SWEEPABLE BANDS

The EQF 810 is equipped with four sweepable bands, providing coverage over the entire audible frequency spectrum—and then some. The L Band can be configured in shelf or peak mode, and covers the 20 Hz - 400 Hz range. Add up to 15 dB of gain for thundering low-end.

The L/M Band features a unique X10 button, providing coverage over the low-end (40 Hz - 800 Hz) or the midrange (400 Hz - 8 kHz). The L/M Band also features a variable Q control for fine-tuning your EQ shape—perfect for surgically removing the ring from a snare drum, or subtle shaping your drum bus.

The M Band is a fully parametric midband that covers the midrange from 400 Hz - 10 kHz, perfect for adding punch and clarity to vocals.

The H Band, like the L Band, can be configured in shelf or peak mode, and covers high frequencies from 1.5 kHz all the way up to 25 kHz, for a brilliant, shimmering top end.

TWO VARIABLE FILTERS

The EQF 810 also features two variable filters, perfect for tightening up low-end and giving tracks the lo-fi treatment. Featuring a fixed slope of 12 dB per octave, the low-pass filter can be set as high as 25 kHz or as low as 150 Hz, perfect for taming harsh cymbals, sibilant singers, and bright acoustic instruments.

The high-pass filter also uses a 12 dB per octave slope, and covers frequencies from 100 Hz to 250 Hz. The high-pass filter also features a switchable X5 button, allowing you to roll-off the bottom-end all the way up to 1.2 kHz. When using the default setting, the high-pass filter is perfect for cleaning up kick and bass tracks, and the versatile X5 switch works wonders in certain situations, such as trying to remove kick bleed from cymbal mics.
