Product Description
Do you need an uncomplicated way to connect a Thunderbolt technology-enabled Mac to a high speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) network? With increasing demands for greater data transfer speeds and more bandwidth over shared networks, and with specialized applications as HD video editing using high-performance shared storage systems, 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) use has skyrocketed. This high-speed wired networking standard offers ten times the performance of Gigabit Ethernet, the common wired network connection included with most computers today. The Sonnets Echo Express SEL 10GbE Thunderbolt 2-to-10GbE adapter provides you a powerfully simple way to add lightning fast 10 Gigabit Ethernet network connectivity to any desktop or notebook Mac with Thunderbolt 2 or Thunderbolt ports.
Measuring a scant 4 inches wide by 8.25 inches long by 2.75 inches tall, the Echo Express SEL 10GbE bundles Sonnet's Echo Express SEL Thunderbolt 2 Expansion Chassis with a Presto™ 10GbE PCIe card and a 1-port Fibre SFP+ transceiver, providing you a near plug-and-play solution for adding 10GbE connectivity. A temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan keeps the adapter running cool and whisper-quiet. In addition, Thunderbolt 2 ports on the back panel of the chassis support daisy chaining of up to six devices to a single port on the host computer.
