Product Description
The Schoeps Decca Tree Set 1U2S is a package for stereo recording with a Decca Tree mic setup and includes three matching pair of CMC 1 U amplifier with MK 2S capsule, KA 40 mounting spheres, and SGC miniature stand mount, in custom premium case.
The Decca Tree is a triangular arrangement of three omnidirectional microphones. The microphones should be placed at least 1.5 m apart to reduce crosstalk and excessive correlation at low frequencies.
Often the microphones of a Decca Tree must be suspended from above. Therefore, the Decca-Tree set is equipped with a CMC 1 U amplifier and MK 2S capsule. The KA 40 accessory mounting spheres cause increased directivity between 1 and 4 kHz, which in turn increases the differences among the signals picked up by each microphone. The M 50 microphones used in the original Decca Tree (1950s) were built on this same principle.
CMC 1 U MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER

MK 2S MICROPHONE CAPSULE
- Moderate high-frequency response elevation at 0°, which compensates high frequency losses caused by the increased diffuse field amount when used near the reverberation radius
- Often used for A/B stereo, Decca Tree or as a room microphone

It is somewhat brighter sound (compared to the MK 2 and MK 2H) makes it ideal for use as a main microphone or room microphone, especially in larger rooms.
KA 40 SPHERE ATTACHMENT
- Sphere attachment for Omnis MK 2, 2H, 2S
- Recommended for Decca Tree
- Produces an increased directivity between 1 and 4 kHz
SGC MINIATURE STAND MOUNT WITH SWIVEL
- Adjustable from 0° through 100° in either direction
- For 8 mm, e.g. for CMC 1 L, CCM microphones, KC, CMR - it also comes with these products
