Product Description
The Schoeps Decca Tree Set 1L2H is a package for stereo recording with a Decca Tree mic setup and includes three matching pair of CMC 1 L amplifier with MK 2H capsule, KA 40 mounting spheres, K5 LU cable and SGC miniature stand mount, in custom premium case.
The Decca Tree is a triangular arrangement of three omnidirectional microphones. The microphones should be placed at least 1.5 m apart to reduce crosstalk and excessive correlation at low frequencies.
Often the microphones of a Decca Tree must be suspended from above. Therefore, the Decca-Tree set is equipped with a CMC 1 L amplifier and MK 2H capsule. The KA 40 accessory mounting spheres cause increased directivity between 1 and 4 kHz, which in turn increases the differences among the signals picked up by each microphone. The M 50 microphones used in the original Decca Tree (1950s) were built on this same principle.
CMC 1 L MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER

MK 2H MICROPHONE CAPSULE
- Mild high-frequency response elevation at 0°, which compensates high frequency losses caused by a slightly increased diffuse field amount at medium recording distance
- Ideal for A/B stereophony and Decca Tree
The gold-plated ring reduces the size of the acoustic opening of the MK 2H. This results in an acoustic elevation above 6 kHz. The MK 2H is a capsule often described as balanced and round. Together with the KA 40 sphere accessory, it forms a classic Decca Tree capsule.
