Since the capsule's output signal is very weak (Hi-Z), it must be amplified. Its extended frequency response and low noise make it appropriate for the most demanding applications.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eThe sound inlet of the MK 2H is narrower than that of other Schoeps pressure transducers, causing a slight, purely acoustic response elevation above 6 kHz. This reduces the high frequency loss for diffuse sound, thus helping to preserve natural sound quality.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eThe MK 2H, like the MK 2S, is ideal for natural-sounding pickup of instruments and orchestras in spaces with well-balanced reverberance. The choice between the two capsule types is essentially a matter of personal preference. At a given miking distance the MK 2H might be described as more ”balanced and round” sounding while the MK 2S would give a slight additional brilliance.
