From Pultecs original description: "Provides mix down and acoustical positioning of program material in the production of stereo recordings. Fully and continuously pans each of four input channels between two output channels, left and right. Also accepts three echo return signals and mixes and pans them in the two outputs. Inputs 600 ohms. Amplifiers restore insertion losses. Isolation between inputs is 70db at all frequencies."
