Product Description
The key to a great acoustic drum kit sound is to capture each element individually so that you have the most control over your mix. The PreSonus DM-7 drum mic set gives you everything you need to authentically capture your drum kit and just about any other instrument you like. Starting with the foundation, the BD-1 kick drum mic provides a unique frequency response to capture both the boom and the attack of your kick drum for tight, robust sound. The four ST-4 microphones will bring out the best in toms and snare drums while staying out of the drummer’s way thanks to included, adjustable rim mounts. To capture the sizzle of your cymbals and the ambiance of the room, use the two OH-2 small-diaphragm condensers to add space and movement to your drums. With a useful assortment of microphones, included mounts, and a hardshell carrying case, the DM-7 drum microphone set is a welcome addition to any mic locker.
All about that bass
The dynamic BD-1 kick drum mic will help your kick drum punch through any mix. Featuring a dynamic cardioid capsule with a tailored frequency response, the BD-1 will accentuate low-end thump without leaving the beater attack behind. Your kick drum will sound sharp and rich with minimal EQ required. The BD-1 is also an excellent choice for bass cabinets. An integrated mount makes it easy to accurately position the BD-1 and get the sound you want.
Rounding it out
With a frequency response designed to enhance the attack and tone from toms and snare drums, you’ll love the ST-4 microphones. These versatile dynamic microphones will quickly become your secret weapon, whether you’re miking a tom, a snare, a guitar amp, and more. You’ll be amazed at how well these mics perform. The adjustable rim mounting system makes it easy to position the ST-4 mics on your toms and snare, so you won’t have to worry about a dozen cluttery mic stands surrounding the kit, the stage, or your live room.
Add some shimmer
The key to accurately capturing cymbals and room tone in your drum mix is a pair of matched, well-positioned overhead mics—and the OH-2 mics won’t let you down. These small-diaphragm condenser mics have just the right amount of high-frequency shine to bring out the air in your acoustic space and make your cymbals sound their best. But don’t stop at drums, these mics are also a great choice for capturing depth and realism in many other instruments that benefit from stereo tracking including: pianos, acoustic guitars, and more!
The perfect addition to any mic collection
While designed to bring out the best in your drum mixes, the DM-7 drum microphone set will quickly become your go-to mics for just about any instrument. From bass drums to maracas and everything in between, you’ll find a mic in this toolkit to get the job done. And with all the mounts and windscreens included, your creativity can reign. Wherever sound takes you, the DM-7 drum mic pack will let you capture it as its best.
