The Neve 1081 Mic Pre/4 Band EQ is Neve's classic mic preamplifier with 4 band EQ with low/high-pass filters. Hi-Q switches on both low and high-mids. Peak/shelf switch on low and hi bands. Class A/B discrete. Amazing for kick/snare, areas where you need to get in with 4 bands of sculpting! Taller and punchier sounding that the Class A 1073, which has a wider and fluffier tonal character.
EQ controls are:
- High pass filter at five frequencies (27, 47, 82, 150, 270 Hz)
- Low pass filter at five frequencies (3.9, 5.6, 8.2, 12, 18 kHz)
- Low EQ (peak or shelving) at five frequencies (33, 56, 100, 180, 330 Hz)
- Low Mid EQ (with Hi-Q) at ten frequencies (220, 270, 330, 390, 470, 560, 680, 820, 1000, 1200 Hz)
- High Mid EQ (with Hi-Q) at ten frequencies (1.5, 1.8, 2.2, 2.7, 3.3, 3.9, 4.7, 5.6, 6.8, 8.2 KHz)
- High EQ (peak or shelving) at five frequencies 3.3, 4.7, 6.8, 10, 15 kHz
Also includes 30 dB of range for line gain (-20 to +10 dB) or 70 dB of range for mic gain (-10 to -80 dB); phase reverse, EQ bypass, and solo.
