A full-range system can be created with the\r\naddition of an optional subwoofer.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe UPM-1P high-frequency section comprises a 1-inch\r\nmetal dome tweeter on a symmetrical, constant-directivity,\r\nhigh-frequency horn with 100° beamwidth. At lower frequencies,\r\nsophisticated phase-correction circuitry ensures true point-source\r\nperformance without the off-axis cancellation effects that plague\r\ncustomary dual-woofer designs. Two 5-inch low-frequency cone\r\ndrivers are driven in parallel at low frequencies to take advantage of\r\ntheir combined acoustic output. To prevent destructive interference\r\nand comb filtering effects in the mid-band frequencies close to the\r\ncrossover area, one of the drivers rolls off above 320 Hz.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eTwo channels of power amplification are provided, along with an\r\nactive crossover, driver protection voltage limiters, and frequency and phase-response alignment circuitry. A laser-trimmed differential\r\ninput stage affords superior common-mode rejection to allow long\r\nsignal runs through shielded twisted-pair cable. The standard\r\nUPM-1P is switchable between the 115 V AC and 230 V AC ranges.\r\nA 100 V AC version is also available. The UPM-1P loudspeaker’s\r\nintegral power supply suppresses high-voltage transients, while\r\ntwo PowerCON AC connectors facilitate AC looping. \u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eMeyer Sound coats the rugged cabinet with a lightly textured\r\nblack finish.
