The G8 Combo is something Mercury have been working on for a while after speaking to several engineers that like to take a small rack, like the Mercury G810 Rack, for tracking or overdubs directly to their clients. Mercury wanted to provide more tools to take with them in the rack along with some preamps, EQs and limiters to get the most out of their Mercury G810 Rack System.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eThe G8 Combo has two channels of Blender (like the G8 Blender), two channels of high and low filters and two channels of Active Faders (Like the G8 Fader). First, The Wet\/Dry Blending are on channels 5 and 6 of the Mercury G810 Rack. This allows you to have more flexibility over the equalizers and compressor\/limiters and makes parallel compression and equalization easy. Then you have high and low filters and active faders that can be used on Channel 1 and 2 of your Mercury G810 Rack System or that can be used them independently as a stand alone modules on Channel 9 and 10 of the G810 Rack. This allows you to use the high and low filters and active faders with any channel in the rack or any equipment in your studio through the inputs and outputs of channels 9 or 10. If you do not want to use the high and low filters they can both be engaged or not, with an illuminated - push button switch per channel. You can use each channel independently as well, The left channel can be used with Channel 1 or 9 and the right channel and be used with Channel 2 or Channel 10.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eThe G8 Fader, like all MDS G8 Modules, is proprietary to the Mercury G810 Rack Systems (I or II), no other 500 Rack has the capability to use these modules.
