Physical proof that analog and digital are not mutually exclusive concepts in the boutique pedal world, Lotus’s Yellow Delay cleverly combines both technologies for one fantastic delay pedal.
By using analog gain and filter stages, the Yellow Delay Pedal recreates the natural decay and super-warm tones of classic analog and tape delays. With delay times ranging from 10ms to 580ms, repeats start clean and get progressively colored with a tape echo treble roll-off as they fade out—a great Echoplex substitute. We love the way guitar through the Yellow Delay sits beautifully in a mix. The repeats are nice and soft with darker overtones without the muddiness and noise that can be a drag with vintage bucket-brigade analog delay circuits.
Effects range from Cliff Gallup-like rockabilly slapback to spacey Hawkwind mindwarps, and the Yellow Delay’s thoughtful circuit design allows you to quickly dial in the delay sounds you seek before inspiration fades. This could very well be your go-to pedal for classic organic-sounding delay.
