The Electrodyne CA 700 Limiter/Compressor is a high quality gain reduction and peak limiting device for use with speech or music inputs.The availability of limiting only, or limiting in combination with compression, makes the CA 700 Limiter/Compressor an extremely versatile unit. An exclusive innovation permits fast attack time and the333 availability of fast release time with low distortion. This circuit contains an automatic low-frequency gate that increases release time as needed to prevent the gain reduction from tracking a low-frequency signal, yet retaining the fast release time desired for most applications.
A three-position de-essing circuit provides for automatically reducing sibilance (hissing) in speech, when compressing, without any apparentroll-off of high-frequency response. The CA 700 Limiter/Compressor is designed for use in 600/150 ohm systems, has a self-contained 24-Vdc 150-ma power supply.
