cedar-audio-duo-bundle
Cedar Audio Duo Bundle

The Cedar Audio Duo Bundle is a package that includes 1 DDC Duo declickle, 1 DDH Auto Dehiss and 1 ADA.

DDC declickle

The Duo declickle™ processor is based on the dual declick+decrackle process initially developed for CEDAR's flagship Cambridge system. This was born out of the dedication to solve the dual problems of declicking and decrackling difficult signals such as brass instruments, solo strings, and human singing, without introducing unwanted artifacts in the wanted audio. In overcoming these difficulties, researchers discovered that a single, new algorithm yielded better results than applying separate declick and decrackle processes.

The benefits of declickle

Unlike a standard declicker, declickle's detector is able to identify high densities of low amplitude, short duration disturbances within the signal. However, removing each of these unwanted impulses using a basic interpolator would not be satisfactory because these assume that a click or scratch has totally corrupted the audio and that there is no useful information about the signal during the click. Small disruptions may be considered to be additive, so this assumption is not necessarily appropriate, and declicking a crackly signal discards a lot of useful information that an optimal algorithm can use to improve the quality of the processed audio.

Consequently, declickle™ offers a better impulsive noise detector and a better interpolator than any previous declicker or decrackler. This results in superior performance across a wider range of material than ever before. Indeed, this performance is so good that, in almost all cases, it is not possible to hear that the signal was damaged prior to restoration.

Power and Simplicity

Despite the power of the Duo declickle™ processor, its user-interface is extremely simple and quick to use, and excellent results can be obtained by users with only a limited knowledge of audio engineering.

DDH Auto Dehiss

Despite being told for many years that it was impossible, CEDAR Audio developed auto-dehissing because traditional noise reduction methods are - for most purposes - less than ideal. Dual-ended processes require encoding and do nothing to remove noise already present in a signal. Low-pass filters remove as much wanted signal as noise. Dynamic filters pump, round off transients and dull the genuine signal. Gates remove no noise when open. Expanders pump, and multi-band expanders have poor separation filters, leading to loss of high frequencies, loss of ambience, and degradation of hard transients.

So, for those occasions when it is inappropriate to employ a fully-featured, computer-based noise reduction system, developed auto dehiss, which produces excellent results very quickly and with minimal fuss. The Duo auto dehiss processor incorporates the third generation of this process, which is optimized for consistent noises such as tape hiss and general background noise.

Power and Simplicity

The Duo auto dehiss processor is a further development of the Dehiss 3 algorithm developed for CEDAR Cambridge™. Nevertheless, the power of the auto dehiss process is disguised by a remarkably simple and intuitive interface, so that excellent results can be obtained quickly by users with few (or no) advanced audio engineering skills.

A cost-effective converter for almost all stereo A/D and D/A duties

This stereo, 24-bit, 96kHz 1U rackmount unit that produces an AES/EBU or SPDIF output from a balanced or unbalanced analogue stereo input, and a stereo balanced or unbalanced output from an incoming AES/EBU or SPDIF input. Designed to complement CEDAR's award-winning DNS-series and Duo-series hardware modules as well as CEDAR Cambridge, the ADA offers four sync modes, professional and consumer formats, emphasis on/off, user-selectable input levels of up to 27dBu, and a maximum output level of +24dBu.

ADA

With both professional (XLR) and consumer (phono) analogue inputs and outputs, the ADA is usable in almost all analogue and digital environments. With a dynamic range of greater than 110dB and a signal to noise ratio of better than 109dBfs, it's suitable for all but the very most demanding converter tasks.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0658/8848/5479/files/cedar-audio-duo-bundle_56426_2_746f68a6-cca1-499c-8ad4-46dc53788d94.jpg?v=1787090809
