The BAE 1084 mic pre/4-band EQ is as authentic as you can get to the original. Class A/B discrete, with the same St Ives (Carnhill) transformers, Elma switches and Canford wire as the vintage modules.The BAE 1084 looks identical to the original vintage module and will retrofit in vintage Neve 80 Series consoles.The module is made with exactly the same chassis, connectors, PCB's, hand-wired looms, and circuitry as the originals.
Amazing for kick/snare - areas where you need to get in with 4 bands of sculpting. Taller and punchier sounding than the Class A 1073, which has a wider and fluffier tonal character.
EQ controls are:
- Selectable 10 - 12 - 16 kHz high-shelf +/-16dB
- High pass filter at 45 - 70 - 160 - 360 Hz; 18 dB per octave slope
- Low EQ shelf: 35 - 60 - 110 - 220 Hz; +/-16dB
- Hi-mid EQ points: 360 - 700 Hz - 1.6 - 3.2 - 4.8 - 7.2 kHz; +/-12dB or +/-18dB peaking
- Low pass filter at 6 - 8 - 10 - 14 - 18 kHz
- Separate mic and line inputs
- Input attenuation from 0 to 80 dB
- Phase reverse
- EQ bypass
