Product Description
The Altec M49 Cardioid Microphone System consists of a 29B cardioid microphone capsule with 195A body and Model 539A AC power supply. A variant commonly referred to as the Lipstick mic, it was most famously used by Elvis on his legendary 1968 Comeback Special on NBC. It is a FET descendant of the Altec M20 system which consisted of 165A or 175A bases. Altec M50, M51, and M52 microphones are of the same family with varying combinations of 195A with differing power supplies and capsules.
