New Moog Matriarch - New Moog Grandmother - New Moog Synths

When Moog first launched the Matriarch and Grandmother, we were among the many excited by the vibrant colors they choose to adorn each synthesizer. For those that have been longing for the semi-modular synths with the classic look of the brand's blacked-out modular panels, your time has officially arrived. That's right, Moog has just announced the Matriarch Dark and Grandmother Dark. These are the same classic synthesizers that we've all come to know and love, but with the added touch of cool and nostalgia factor. These beauties will now perfectly match with classic Moog gear and new favorites like the Mother-32, DFAM, and Subharmonicon.

If you still haven't pulled the trigger on the colorful Matriarch and Grandmother, they aren't going anywhere. Both options will be available to customers everywhere. Let's get a better look at the Matriarch Dark and Grandmother Dark below. In addition, you can watch our original demos featuring the classic versions of both synthesizers.

Moog Matriarch Dark Synthesizer

Like we said, aside from the color variant, the Matriarch Dark is the same synthesizer as the Matriarch. The four-note paraphonic analog synth comes in all of its patchable glory and remains semi-modular in nature, so even novices can create cool sounds without patching. The Matriarch includes a 256 step sequencer with up to four notes per step and 12 stored patterns, in addition to an arpeggiator with selectable modes. Let's not forget that beautiful sounding stereo delay, dual analog ADSR envelopes, dual analog VCAs, and so much more.

Since first getting our hands on the Moog Matriarch, we've loved this beautiful synth. It may not feature the new colorway, but here's our original demo of the Matriarch.

Moog Grandmother Dark Synthesizer

The Moog Grandmother has been a bestseller since making its debut in 2018 and was the perfect jumping-off point for the much-larger Matriarch. The monophonic synthesizer features two voltage-controlled oscillators, 41 patch points, a 32-note Fatar keybed, an arpeggiator/sequencer, and a killer built-in reverb tank.
